Dartmoor Hunt

Also like many hunts they will tell anyone who asks them that they are only involved in the lawful pursuit of trail hunting. But why would a group of people who are following a trail have terriermen and kill foxes? This excerpt from 29th January 2020 meeting minutes makes it very clear, they are killing foxes.

The hunt’s 2018 the AGM highlighted that (like many hunts) a large chunk of their income comes from point to point racing. In this case the race is held on a private estate owned by the Mildmay-White family. One of the sponsors of the hunt gets a particular mention later “A Salon Called Fish“.
Some good news for foxes is that two local hunts had to amalgamate, which also caused the Dartmoor some problems.

On to April 2019 meeting minutes, which bring up “Party in the Park” again, an event that appears to be bringing them in a lot of money via a burger van and we can see that the hunt does have some financial difficulties:

The May 2019 minutes also mention Party in the Park and for some reason they want to try and get drag hunting onto Dartmoor.

The September 2019 AGM thanks those involved in trail laying, but the terrier men who do the killing seem to have been forgotten about. Party in the Park and A Salon Called Fish are both mentioned again. There is also a long list of all the members of the hunt in the document.

And from this letter dated January 2021, it’s clear without the large lump sum of tax payers money, this hunt would have perished. They also seem to be up to some dodgy dealings with planning applications:
